How to choose a racquet
- Balance — head-heavy for power from the rear court, even balance for all-round play, head-light for fast hands and doubles defence.
- Weight — 3U (≈85–89g) for stability, 4U (≈80–84g) for a faster swing, 5U for juniors and quick exchanges.
- Shaft flex — stiffer suits players with a fast arm and clean technique; medium flex suits most players.

FAQ
What tension should I string my racquet at?
Beginners: 20–23 lb for a bigger sweet spot and more power. Intermediate: 24–27 lb. Advanced players who hit clean: 27 lb and above. Higher tension gives more control but less power and a shorter string life.
3U or 4U — which should I get?
4U is the more popular choice today: lighter, faster to swing, easier on the arm. Choose 3U if you want more stability and plough-through on your smashes and don't mind the extra weight.
